Off to a Great Start!

Our first full day of summer (Saturday) was a busy one. Brandon and I spent the day painting the deck. But at the end I made a fun new ball toss toy for the kids.  They loved it!

Then after all that excitement, I made cake pops for the first time ever. It was a bit of a challenge for the dipping part. But the rest was pretty easy!

Sunday was another day of painting in the morning. Woo hoo. But on the upside, I have a new lawn boy! The big guy learned to mow the lawn and I plan to enforce the new child labor around here! Yes, I was sitting on my bum while he mowed. I don't feel even a little bit guilty.

The little guy did his share too. He scraped all the weeds out of the cracks in the driveway. We are doing real good around here.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday were also great! I did a great deal of painting this week but we also did work pages and chores. The boys have been great with playing together to let me get the painting done. We did manage to sign up for the library reading program and Canon is already done with his book. We also got our stuff for the FoamFest (more on this after Saturday). Next week will have some trips to the park and other fun stuff...

Summer is definitely off to a great start!

It's Here!!!!!

Finally! Summer vacation.

Say it with me now... Ahhhhh (like a sigh of relief - not the scary screaming noise we make sometimes!).

I'm so happy to have time that is more flexible and free. Don't get me wrong... I'll be begging for the routine come the first of August. But for now, thank goodness we are here. I'm so relieved.

We even started off with making moon sand! So fun!!! 8 cups of flour plus 1 cup of baby oil... It was very soft and totally entertaining. And I got to start a "Did It" board on my pinterest! I plan to do all those fun activities and report on how they go. Check off one and it was great!

I can't wait to do some more and to just enjoy the summer. We just finished up 1st and 3rd grade. Feels like they are headed off to college tomorrow...
